Testimonials

Virtuoso guitar and a voice to die for. Check out The Secret Sounds!

— Sam Ruddick

The Secret Sounds are excellent to work with. After seeing them play at various local venues we chose to hire them to play an event at our establishments. We had a great experience and when it came time to do a much more in-depth event (a complicated dinner theater) we collaborated with them to put together a truly magical performance for our guests. We will absolutely work with them again in the future.

— Heritage House

The Secret Sounds bring talent and glamour where ever they go which is why I love to feature them at events of all kinds. Their chemistry and style bring all the mid-century jazz/blues vibes but it’s their original music that brings the whole act together in unforgettable ways.

On top of the talent, from an event organizer standpoint, they are timely, self reliant and professional. Check out this band! Put them on a mix tape! Put them on a stage!!!

— Dani Nelson

Simply mesmerizing. You’ll want to hear them again and again! We’re looking forward to y’all coming back this spring to our Listening Room on the beautiful Dadeville Square.

The Secret Sounds are an incredible duo. They played for us last night and the crowd loved them. I heard multiple people raving about how great they are. If you need a musician give them a call! I know I will again!

— Lake Martin Piano Bar

The Secret Sounds played at our Opelika Young Professionals Kick-Off and did a phenomenal job. I had numerous compliments on their sound and performance and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for great entertainment in the Auburn/Opelika area!

Questions?

What are your live shows like?

The Secret Sounds typically perform as a jazz duo in the tradition of Ella Fitzgerald and Joe Pass, or Julie London and Barney Kessel. Our set list consists of jazz and blues standards with a few jazzed-up classic country and traditional songs. We are gradually adding more original material to our set as we write them and work out the arrangements.

We approach performance in the jazz tradition, improvising arrangements around a loose framework. We never play a song the same way twice.

What kinds of events do you play?

We are open to playing any event or venue, but we’re particularly interested in gigs that want to offer the audience something different from the usual singer-songwriter or cover band.

We can customize the experience to suit your needs, whether you want a four-piece jazz combo for your wedding, a duo for your brunch, raunchy blues for your dive bar, or experimental improvisations to accompany your performance art.
